What happened. What is said. Reflected in the bodies of five actresses.
Nobel Prize laureate Elfriede Jelinek's "Kein Licht." series drew widespread acclaim when it was staged at F/T last year. Now the latest text in her series of Fukushima-inspired plays will be tackled by Akio Miyazawa, known for his investigations into the relations between urban language and physicality. Using the medium of Noh theatre, "Prolog?" will create a site for exploring what has happened (the past) and how we can narrate this (the present). Its cast is made up of five versatile actresses who have been leading performers in Japanese fringe theatre since the late Seventies until today.
