A portrait of the Middle East today told in "person-less" communication.
Inspired by a young Lebanese activist's suicide that shook his friends and colleagues, the play asks questions about if he now, after death, belongs to the public realm or the private? On the stage, a screen shows a Facebook page continuing to update with messages. A mobile phone keeps receiving SMS. Communication carries on even with the absence of people. Has the man's death been appropriated for political means? Or have others attempted to stop his politicization? From this unsettling scene emerges a portrait of the post-Arab Spring contemporary Middle East still searching for its destination.
