Tomohiro Maekawa applies his fantastical vision to Japan’s most famous collection of supernatural folk legends

The third in an award-winning series, this is an adaptation of folklorist Kunio Yanagita’s famous collection of folk legends from northern Japan. Director Tomohiro Maekawa and a cast including Toru Nakamura and Koji Seto bring to life these tales of supernatural beings like kappa and tengu as well as figures from the spirit world such as the dead or gods.
