The start of the endless festival heads to the park!

This is the second production in a series that celebrates the life and work of Shuji Terayama, the influential Japanese avant-garde artist who died thirty years ago. A Terayama film script, itself inspired by a kabuki play, has been adapted by Akihito Nakatsuru and will be directed by Show Ryuzanji. The result is an anarchic ensemble play populated by young characters with the era of the Tenpo Reforms offset against underground culture. This neo-kabuki firestorm will light up contemporary Ikebukuro!
