Home / F/T11 Performances presented by F/T / Cinecittà Aperta Ruhr Trilogy, Part 2

Summary

René Pollesch depicts the dilemmas of capitalism and media society through theatre overflowing with critical spirit and irony. "Cinecittà Aperta", part two of the
"Ruhr Trilogy", was inspired by Roberto Rossellini's
"War Trilogy" films that feature bombed cities after
World War II. In a vast Tokyo wasteland a film team's
fragmentary monologues and slapstick activities
conceal a poignantly angry discourse on life in
contemporary society.
