F/T13 Emerging Artists Program: 137 applicants from all over Asia
The deadline for applications for the F/T13 Emerging Artists Program was on January 31st.
We received applicants from all over Asia.
The total number this year was
137 applicants: 74 from Japan, 63 from other parts of Asia.
While this did not exceed
last year's numbers (180 applicants), the applications still originated from a broad variety of countries, including at least one new area. The range of the applications was also impressive, such as collaborations between international artists.
As the F/T team now begins its judging process to decide the first round of candidates, we are excited about the new creative energies we can see emanating from the continent.
Following our previous versions of the Emerging Artists Program we have listened to feedback from audiences from around the world and have been since working on how to develop the project more. Check back for further details later in the year.
This year's program is the fourth time for the platform to be held, and expectations are high for what can be achieved for the new festival.
The first round of candidates will be announced online in early March.
