OKAZAKI ART THEATRE

Founded in April 2003 for the purpose of staging works directed by then-Waseda University student Yudai Kamisato, it has now created around 30 productions. The name derives from Kamisatoʼs financial debt to a certain Seiji Okazaki, who is also chairman of the company. Other than troupe leader Kamisato, actor Kimio Takeya is attached to the group. It emphasizes an actorsʼ theatre, with sets hardly being used. Its productions are free for audience members under the age of high school students, and also feature English and Japanese surtitles in endeavours to create more opportunities for broader audiences to enjoy their work.
